Severe frame rate fluctuations in fast-paced first-person games.
My gaming experience has deteriorated significantly; games are now unplayable, particularly Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2019. After installing MSI Afterburner, I observed a substantial decrease in frames per second—initially reaching 140 or more, but rapidly plummeting to under 10. I’ve attempted numerous troubleshooting steps, including adjusting settings and disabling game mode, along with exploring various solutions found online. However, these efforts have been unsuccessful. I've replicated this issue with several other titles, including Shadow of War, Arma 3, and Modern Warfare 2. Initially, I suspected a network problem, but my internet connection consistently maintains speeds exceeding 200 Mbps. My new gaming PC build’s performance is perplexing, as the GPU temperature remains stable at 84°C and reaches 100% utilization during gameplay, while the CPU maintains a temperature below 36°C and utilizes no more than 15-18% of its capacity. My system has 6528 MB of RAM. I’m seeking any advice or recommendations to resolve this issue.
Here are my PC specifications:
CPU: Intel Core i9 9900K
GPU: EVGA NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 (XC Ultra)
Motherboard: ASUS Prime Z390-A
RAM: Corsair Vengeance RGB PRO 32GB (2x16GB) DDR4 3200
Storage: Samsung SSD 860 EVO (1TB), NVMe Samsung SSD 970 (2TB)
Operating System: Windows 10
The MSI AB indicates a resolution of 2560x1080. I continue to experience identical outcomes, and this issue began unexpectedly today. My computer previously performed exceptionally well in games at maximum settings.
