Sorry ahead of time if I shared in the wrong spot—I've never used this forum before! This looks like the right place for this issue! Hey everyone, I haven't managed to solve this problem on Google either. I'm reaching out here. Has anyone ever had this happen during a Discord chat, while playing a game, or while watching YouTube? The sound keeps getting louder even when I don’t adjust the volume. It stays at whatever level it’s set on my PC, but it becomes extremely loud and can damage your ears. When someone stops talking in a call, the volume resets. Also, if the game audio stops and then restarts, the volume resets again. I’ve already returned my headphones for replacement, and my computer specs are listed. My setup includes an 850W gold-rated PSU, B550 pro motherboard, MSI 3070 RGB graphics card, Ryzen 7 3700X, 32GB DDR4 RAM, a 2TB WD Black M.2 SSD, and a 10TB WD Black HDD (6TB). For the longest time I couldn’t fix it. I’ve reinstalled drivers, restored from an SSD backup, and reinstalled all my drivers so far. I’m not very tech-savvy right now, so I’m stuck figuring this out.

Navigate to System → Sound → additional sound options. Communications section lets you adjust incoming sound levels. Review audio enhancement settings and enable volume equalization.

Your audio system consists of speakers connected via the motherboard’s line-out port and headphones linked to the PC case output. The simplest option is the Apple USB-C to headphone adapter, which functions as a DAC for managing sound.

I have a setup with two components: speakers connected through USB for power and a 3.5mm jack, plus a USB Corsair Void RGB wireless headset. I plan to test something Billbill mentioned on Monday once I'm back home. If that doesn't work, I'm uncertain about the issue. My main concern is that my audio tends to spike loudly during conversations or game sounds, and it's extremely uncomfortable. Reducing the volume to 2% still doesn't help.

It occurs with both devices and the headset.
