You should perform a system reboot to resolve any issues. I’m concerned about buying the game but don’t want it to lock up my PC or force me to reinstall Windows 10 again due to the 64-bit Sapphire R9 390 Nitro i7 6700K setup.

My details are listed below. I’ve spent around 40 hours into Fallout 4 (about two weeks) and only experienced a single lockup. Of course, since it’s Bethesda there have been some issues elsewhere, but overall I haven’t had many problems with its functionality.

But why does it get stuck? I’m worried about playing a game that could freeze my computer—I don’t want to have to restart it all over again.

The issue lies with your PC due to its high specs—6700k (also known as 5820k in masterrace). This model has a flaw that can cause it to freeze under heavy load. Try running Prime 95 for a short time to see if the problem persists. If it does, obtain the BIOS update from Intel.

I don't have a specific source for that information. You can check the original context or document where it was provided.
