I just saw the gameplay footage on Youtube. The gameplay looks pretty interesting from what little we've seen so far, but the game itself looks absolutely gorgeous. The character models even rival Rise of the Tomb Raider because of the much more detailed skin textures. I probably won't be able to get a nice 60 at 1440p with high settings just like ROTR with the single 390x. But even the 720p footage from the Xbox that they're showing looks amazing so I can only imagine what 1080p + slightly better visuals at 60fps looks like I know I'm super excited but hopefully Microsoft doesn't screw this one up which they seem to have a knack for doing
I believe it plays the cutscenes smoothly. Digital Foundry claims they're created in real time. I'm uncertain about the final presentation. However, it seems DRM combined with Microsoft might determine the game's success. From what I see, a break is likely.
This approach seems quite unusual and might be confusing. Broadcasting live rendered cutscenes could raise security concerns, yet it appears to be a deliberate effort to stop piracy. It’s puzzling since Denuvo had previously significantly reduced pirated copies of AAA titles, yet they’re still implementing additional restrictions for paying players, such as demanding constant internet connectivity.
Your excitement about the game is clear, but I'm also keen on the gameplay and story. I'd consider spending $50-60 if it runs smoothly and avoids DRM problems. If Microsoft makes mistakes, they won't get my money back.
