Several problems encountered with m.2 and Windows setup
I assembled a brand new PC with the latest hardware to enjoy smoother gameplay. I managed to complete the installation, but I need to get it running so I can finally access the home screen. Initially, my Windows setup didn’t finish on my Samsung 970 Pro M.2 drive. I checked the BIOS settings—it listed storage as a boot option, but not as a boot method. After searching online, I realized it only appears in CSM mode. I switched to CSM and set it as the primary boot, then tried launching from the Windows installer USB. The setup completed partially, but it froze during configuration and displayed an error: “Windows could not finish configuring the system. To attempt to resume configuration, restart the computer.” I’ve been troubleshooting for hours. If anyone can explain this in simple terms, it would really help prevent a breakdown. Thanks, everyone.

Outside of the 970, I installed the external with windows and added some peripherals to manage BIOS and setup.
full system spec? include brand and model of the psu
what os are you try to install?
Ensure the clean target drive is ready before setting up Windows. Apply the diskpart clean technique.
Spoiler
Connect only one storage drive. If Windows is installed in UEFI mode, start from the Windows Boot Manager.
Are you asking if these guidelines were used when setting up and installing Windows 10?
This doesn't imply the system is already pre-partitioned. You need to eliminate any existing partitioning. For drives with an MBR partition, installation is limited to legacy/CSM mode only. With a GPT partition, UEFI mode is required. If the M.2 drive isn't recognized, installing Windows won't be possible. Just locate the Windows Boot Manager boot option.
