Hope is the ideal place to share, thanks for your support. Your hard drive failure recently prompted a format since it housed the installed programs. Since then, you've faced problems. - at startup I often miss the boot image, encountering black screens. I'm using Avast Antivirus which frequently triggers IDP alerts. Most executable files show generic infections, so I've reinstalled them. (Even an Avast EXE flagged as suspicious.) In Task Manager, the process stays suspended after boot but not consistently. It won't close or respond. Once it's suspended, the keyboard becomes extremely sluggish everywhere. - I also tried SUPERAntispyware, which got suspended too. After it closed, it completed an analysis. Restart/Shutdown commands stopped working. When Avast appears suspended, the system behaves oddly. - The AMD Ryzen 2700x MoBo ASUS X470 with 32GB RAM (4x8), Corsair 3000Mhz, 128GB SSD and two HDDs, GTX980 graphics, and a 860W PSU from Corsair all show normal performance in Task Manager.
It's possible the other disc contained viruses within a program you launched following formatting.
I'm using several antivirus tools now, with MalwareBytes currently scanning. I haven't accessed the old disk or programs after reinstalling Windows.
MalwareScan is checking your system now. Running multiple scans together may cause problems. It seems your device could be infected; try using MalwareBytes for a quick check.
Sure, I handle things one at a time. Right now I'm using MalwareBytes, and so far it's found 16 files. It looks like they might be tracking cookies. Thanks for the update!
Following the malwarebytes scan, everything functioned properly until now. After setting up the free MalwareBytes test, I'm trying to address another issue—my monitor shuts down after a certain time, but it doesn't power off like expected. The PC restarts instead of stopping when the monitor should.
The monitor should include configuration by default; for your PC, adjust settings via Windows Control Panel. Check if an automatic restart option is available.
