@Damascus I'm not sure about Destiny 1 you're playing, but having the top-tier weapons blocked seems unrealistic. Most of my armor and gear were just standard ones, and they never impacted my performance in Crucible even when competing against the current meta. So saying top-tier weapons are restricted might not be true unless you realized your base game weapons weren't enough for your skill level.
Alex Colson discusses exotics following the release, noting that the level cap was raised for those with the most unique and powerful gear. He mentions having a complete set of his favorite exotic equipment, only to find it restricted. The game became less engaging, making grinding feel pointless and PvP frustrating when everyone he plays against is strong.
Trials of Osiris existed specifically for that purpose. It aimed to challenge those who believe they are superior. Some exotic items remained inaccessible once a level cap was reached, allowing players to utilize lower-light weapons without issues. Even for raid preparation, the raid gear would still work effectively if Raid settings were adjusted.
Once more, I don’t want what should have been original game material being pushed to me. I’m not interested; Bungie seems determined to take every last bit of money from anyone who remembers the old, outdated legacy.
Damascus seems to be pretending to run as their publisher. Activision is a firm just like EA, possibly even worse at taking profits from people.
For many of my friends who played D1 and later went to Warframe, they found Warframe more enjoyable than D1 or D2, and D2 felt like just a DLC for D1.
