One day ago my power went out for a few seconds, after it came back I turned my PC on and everything was fine[about 1 hour of use]. I had to go do something, so I turned my PC off again in order to not worry about my power turning off again. I came back and turned it on, and again, everything was fine all night [about 10 hours of use]. I did some basic windows integrity checks [dism commands, sfc, etc] to be safe and it was fine. Today I turned my PC on and my headphones were only producing audio in the left side. I have a DAC/AMP combo, a sound card, and on board audio to test, and my headphones were consistently only giving audio in the left side. So I pulled out some old shitty earbuds, and the earbuds got full audio, left/right, from all 3 sources. Both are 3.5mm I went to buy a new pair of headphones, also 3.5mm, got home, and they were also only putting sound in the left side. I tested on board, external DAC/AMP, and internal sound card. So I tested the old pair of headphones and the new pair on my MP3 player, a laptop, and my 3DS - all devices only got sound from the left side. I tested my earbuds on the same 3 devices, and got full sound out of each. TL;DR - New and old pair of headphones are only getting audio in the left side from any source from my PC and the symptoms carry over to other devices, but my earbuds are getting full audio from all outputs from my PC and other devices. Did I get REALLY unlucky and have my headphones die and my replacements also not work in the exact same way, or is my PC damaging the headphones [but not the earbuds]? I've tried unplugging/replugging my DAC/AMP, the headphones, turning the pc on and off, using the front and back panels for on board, re-installed audio drivers to. Also, when I use the test audio device in windows, the right sides test shows up in the volume mixer when the sound is being played. PS Sorry if this should be in audio, it felt more like a general trouble shooting issue for my PC.
