So, I've got a good one for you guys. Trying to set up my PC failed horribly, however now an even weirder problem has arisen. We were setting up Windows on a 70" Sony TV. PC had constant flickering, almost as if it was disconnecting, and now won't display anything. However, and this is where it gets quite odd, the PC my dad had hooked up to the TV now does the same thing. We have: Tried different HDMI ports on the TV Tried different HDMI cables Tried a different monitor with my PC (mind you that was HDMI as well, I'll try DP after dinner) Tried a different video card in both machines (so far have gone through GT710, 3060, 3060Ti, and 6700XT) All resulting in no signal at all. Nothing. All lights do light up FWIW. The TV displays the hockey game perfectly fine through the same HDMI ports. I don't think the HDMI port can fry computers, but if it can, that's a lot of lost hardware.

Ensure the HDMI connector is intact by inspecting the pins for any damage or misalignment.

The alternative idea seemed like a faulty power cord from the outlet.

It seems the problem is affecting several machines and monitors. I've checked the setup on a different desktop—still trying to pinpoint the cause. Just to be sure, this isn't happening on either of those systems?

It's improbable, but I'd prefer to verify this first before connecting it elsewhere, to avoid potential problems. Are you using HDMI or a different cable with a separate port on the TV? If so, I'd examine the connection points to ensure they're straight and properly grounded, similar to a motherboard setup.

He might have changed the graphics cards instead of fixing something else. Let's give it another shot. I need to put the 6700xt back in the case, though it's really frustrating. We should focus on the hockey game now.

You're referring to the cable box that connects to your TV via HDMI. It seems he tested every port and everything functioned properly.

I believe this might relate to your earlier mention of the 6700xt flickering or something else entirely. It seems to occur even without drivers, across various GPUs and brands. Do you have an integrated GPU? I’ll make sure to test the monitor using another HDMI port first—it would help us pinpoint the problem more easily.

I tried but didn’t make progress. I ended up stopping since I was winding down for the night and @Moonzy was on the same page.

Yeah, the cable box is connected via HDMI. I left the PC for a bit, redid the BIOS and now it works (as far as the prelim testing I've done shows). Took a lot of screwing around with it, though. The other PC for some reason just decided to start working again after it was left for a while. I'd still like to know what was causing the issues with the other PCs on the TV, but we may never know. Kind of. A few problems solved (BIOS update, pulled everything apart, cleaned out the GPU drivers, etc). Now I have to reinstall Windows, but that will come later; the cases tolerances are a bit too tight for the Radeon card, so I need to order DP cables without locking mechanisms and file them down so they'll fit properly. Sooo hopefully once that's done and the cable is modded it'll be smooth sailing. Last AMD build I ever do though. Always a headache. Neither of you would happen to know the best way to heatshrink the DP cable/connector once I remove the housing, would you?
