Setup OpenVPN to launch and connect automatically when Windows boots.
Ensure you're using the most recent OpenVPN release. Reinstall it, then add the OpenVPN service in advanced settings. Place your configuration file in the auto-config directory, and finally add it to Windows Services with automatic startup. You're all set!
I followed your recommendation and OpenVPN began working on Windows. Still, I’m having trouble connecting it to the VPN even though the configuration file is placed in the auto-config directory.
My setup needs a login. I made the login file, but when I run it from the config file (both located in the same folder), the error keeps appearing. I suspect the issue might be with how the credentials are entered in the config file.
