I made the Windows 11 update today and after installing and rebooting I see a black screen with text. I’m using a dual boot setup with Kali Linux and Windows 11, but I’m encountering an error about an unknown filesystem. I’m looking for a solution and would appreciate any advice. Thank you ahead of time.

You're in the infamous 'Windows Update' mess. It's a common issue with an easy solution: type `grub-install /dev/sda` in the terminal, then run `update-grub` to add Windows to your GRUB menu. This works across various Linux distributions, not just Kali.

Find the terminal mate by checking your current location or using the appropriate navigation method. If you're unsure, consult the documentation for guidance on accessing it.

The display you're using IS the command line. Click once on the line labeled 'grub rescue > And enter 'sudo grub-install'. You might have to log in as root, something I haven't done recently and I've missed a few steps. Alternatively, you can reinstall Kali; it usually takes similar time but with fewer keystrokes. There are also online guides explaining the fix, though even though it's under ten steps, understanding the reasons behind it will take more time than following the instructions. Reading through them can help you recognize what happened and how to avoid it in the future.
