That's the problem. Many professors at EMU don't permit it. I heard from a professor who also teaches elsewhere that the setup they used for Canvas was in reverse compared to other schools. Ugh, there was a teacher who never relied on Canvas for grading—just kept a physical sheet that we could share and email.
Unless the institution mandates Canvas, they won't adopt it. If they resist, they may challenge its implementation if it becomes necessary.
