Looking for a remote desktop solution for Windows 10 with LAN only. You need something that runs on a Win10 touchscreen and benefits from GPU acceleration. TeamViewer and similar tools don’t work well here due to low performance and CPU strain. Consider alternatives like AnyDesk, Remote Desktop Connect, or Parsec if you have access to a stable connection.
TightVNC would be available as open source and free to use—give it a try. AnyDesk is excellent and surpasses Teamviewer, give it a shot. Real VNC resembles TightVNC but includes proprietary extensions offering stronger encryption and performance enhancements. It comes with a price tag (though older versions with license keys are sometimes accessible), but I personally use it and appreciate its features.
TightVNC runs slowly and doesn't sync well with high FPS in AnyDesk. It needs an online login, but my system lacks internet access and it puts heavy CPU load (hardware acceleration not supported). Real VNC works better, though it requires an online login. Windows Remote Desktop is functional, but I must log out the local user to stay connected on the server side. Appreciate your input!
