I frequently encounter issues when launching software or installing updates. The antivirus protection often interferes, causing unexpected behavior and preventing installations like the Rockstar Launcher. This problem began after adding Norton Security to my program list, which I removed immediately due to its unfamiliar nature. The removal process felt unusual. Once uninstalled, the PC restarted and displayed a strange screen. Later, I adjusted Windows Defender settings, but it added unnecessary folders to the protection list, possibly restricting access. After several weeks, errors continue appearing, blocking applications such as Adobe Premiere Pro while still allowing Rockstar Launcher to function. I’m seeking help to resolve this configuration issue.

It possibly began when I accessed the app center and permitted it to install and refresh all the programs/drivers.

It appears this software is acting oddly or possibly involved in suspicious activity. Have you run a virus scan? Many of these programs often contain malware and unnecessary features. I recommend backing up your files and reinstalling Windows to resolve the issue.

You accessed the Windows Defender settings, chose specific folders, and secured them. The location of that configuration is within the Defender settings section.

Launch Windows Defender Security Center. Select Virus & threat protection. Choose the Virus & threat protection settings. In the section titled "Controlled folder access," click manage controlled folder access. Disable it.
