System experiences occasional boot issues with Windows, leading to frequent transitions to the BIOS setup screen. These failures occur intermittently, typically after power disconnection, though not consistently. Sometimes, after a failed boot, XMP settings are applied and the system crashes with a black screen after pressing F10, requiring manual CMOS reset before restarting. The motherboard and RAM, which are around six years old, have remained stable. Recently upgraded from a 3900x & 5700xt to a 5700x3d & 9070xt about six months ago, problems began roughly three weeks prior. Core and RAM voltages remain unchanged. Yesterday, the system failed three times in a row, and I observed it refusing to apply a custom fan curve for one of the MOBO headers, even though it was saved on the Q-fan display. I replaced the CMOS battery, reinserted the RAM, tried both modules in secondary slots, and ran a memory test, but no improvements have been made or faults detected. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

I've updated it three times. It's the most recent release from October 2025. I also attempted an older version but saw no improvement, so I returned to 5901.

You might need to replace the BIOS chip or the entire memory module. The chip is simple to swap, but a new one requires programming with a specific programmer. Any reputable computer service should be able to handle this task.

It was bought brand new for this task and used right out of the box. The replacement didn’t change how the issue behaved, so it seems like a solid cell.
The PSU is a Corsair HX1000 and was included in the original build (with the MOBO) from 2017.
I need to reset the fan curves each time it fails to post into Windows. Recently, when I adjusted the curve for the intake fans, it displayed on the "graph" as saved to my manual/custom curve, but I could still hear the fans adjusting and slowing down on their original settings. That’s my concern.
I plan to get a new board along with a new or larger Gen 4 NVMe drive and test it.
