recently i've been testing gta v benchmarks and gathering information, but it's made me even more puzzled. some people claim a 980ti could hit around 70fps at 1440p with very high settings. mine only manages about 30 to 50 frames per second on maximum settings. (i have an i7-4790 and more than 16 gigabytes of ram—definitely no bottleneck). others seem to achieve over 100fps on weaker hardware. i've noticed that certain options like msaa and ultra grass textures don't affect visuals much but hurt performance. it looks like benchmarks are possibly adjusting these settings to maintain stability. i'm planning to test all the most demanding settings and set them to their peak values to see if a 980ti can consistently reach at least 50fps at 1080p. when i find the results, i'll share them. do you have any experience with this kind of testing? if not, what should i focus on first?

I'd verify if the card is experiencing thermal throttling.

I would ensure the scaling remains stable.

My temperatures stay between 40-60°C, yet my GPU utilization hits 90-99%. It's interesting how with maximum settings, grass on ultra, and advanced graphics all fully activated, only resolution remains unadjusted.

Not correct. The game is being played at full 1080p resolution, and there is no VSINC involved.

I’ll look into the exact values of those “max” configurations. Some options are disabled, offering minimal visual gains but significantly boosting FPS. Avoid adjusting advanced settings—they consume excessive resources with little benefit. Reducing grass quality or density from ultra to high can also noticeably improve frame rates.

Typical FPS at full settings (1440p) in GTA5. Many "maximum" videos that skip certain features often aren't reliable. You can noticeably boost your FPS by lowering some settings, like anti-aliasing.
