You should review those two game settings and consider adjusting them based on your experience. Since you're seeing around 90 FPS, it might be worth tweaking them to improve performance without sacrificing too much quality.

Is there a particular issue clearly impacting the game experience? And are you suggesting that performance drops below 90 FPS after an hour of play? If the game runs smoothly then leave it as is. Otherwise, additional details would be helpful.
= = = =
Keep in mind you can adjust settings freely to test and experiment. Focus on modifying one change at a time and be prepared to reverse any unintended changes. Don’t forget to back up your progress.

No problems so far. I've only played for an hour so no degradation over time. Just wondering what the FPS setting is. Haven't seen it before. Also wondering why it defaulted to TAA instead of DLSS when DLSS is the newer technology.

There isn't much useful info when searching these settings. What I've discovered so far is that TAA is the default, but DLSS gives better performance if your GPU supports it, which the 3080 does. The FPS setting seems to reduce resolution to keep a set FPS. That doesn't sound right, especially since I'm already getting 90. I plan to disable this setting.

As Ralston mentioned, the key is whether the gameplay runs smoothly without any tearing issues. Comparing TAA to DLSS would be straightforward, but since you're limited to DLSS 2 on the 3000 series GPUs, it's unlikely it would significantly boost your FPS to near 165. Also, even achieving 160 or 120 FPS might increase your GPU temperatures, which could be a concern depending on your priorities. High refresh rates and FPS are more beneficial in eSports games, but less so for action games.

With DLSS activated at quality level, I'm achieving around 120 FPS now. The visual difference isn't noticeable. Graphics performance remains strong. I'll keep it this way for now. Temperatures are acceptable.

Many have remarked on this, which explains why DLSS stands out as one of the most significant advancements in gaming software. It remains the primary tool for boosting FPS while maintaining visual quality. Its growing importance is making it a key factor when choosing a current Nvidia GPU, with RT gradually losing prominence except for high-end builds. However, DLSS, particularly version 3, also proves effective with RT.
