Would I be able to run Apple OS on a Windows laptop? I’ve discovered several download links but am uncertain about compatibility. I also found tutorials, though I don’t know if they apply to YOSEMITE.

It's feasible though it relies on compatible hardware. No cause for concern—support is available. You might try Hackintosh with a genuine OSX install, similar to what Marques used in his Hackintosh Pro lineup, which can be accessed via the provided link.

Sure, I understand your stance on piracy. As long as you're using an Intel-based laptop and have a genuine OS version, that should work fine.

It isn't a free operating system; otherwise, you could download it straight from the Apple site. Purchasing a Mac includes the license for using OS X.

I don’t use torrents, though I wanted to share what’s available there. I’ve located genuine copies, but the ones on those sites claim only Mac lineups are compatible.
