Hello. Need to set up WinXP on a Chinese motherboard with a J1900 CPU. ACPI BSOD (7E) is the only option I have. I've tried many solutions already, but the best setup I made doesn't work for USB or PS/2 ports. Any advice or ideas would be appreciated.

The issue stems from the installation process of Windows XP, possibly due to missing or corrupt system files. Check your installation media and ensure all required components are present.

Sorry to hear you're facing these issues. The software and hardware you're using are compatible only with XP. Zalman in VCD mode (USB-CD only) has an HDD already configured for IDE. I've tried seven different versions of WinXP with drivers installed, but I'm still getting a 7E error instead of the expected 7B, indicating a problem with the HDD drivers.

These rules were originally created when XP first launched and have not been revised afterward. You might want to consider using Windows Vista or 7 instead.

They suggest avoiding direct installation of Windows 7 by using VMware and then installing Windows XP instead, which is the approach taken with their ODB Diagnostic tools that are considered outdated.

The issue lies in how touch functions differently between XP and 7. If I stick to the same approach, I risk losing control of touch on 7, which is not acceptable for me. XP performs exceptionally well with touchscreens, meeting another important requirement.

If the components don’t match, you’ll probably have to purchase replacement parts. You can often locate used mini OEM computers from Dell or HP that still run a Pentium 4 at a very low cost.
