Setting up Windows via a network connection
Setting up Windows via a network connection
The goal is to set up a company with 100+ computers that all run the same software, including pre-installed programs. I’m exploring ways to install Windows with ready-made apps from a network server. It’s unclear exactly how this process works or what tools are available. We need a server that can host a Windows 10 image with these files and games. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated. - Jake
The Microsoft Deployment Toolkit handles this task for you. You’ll need a Windows Server copy (preferably 2012 or newer) and everything should work. Machines configured for network boot can complete the deployment and reach your target setup, provided it’s done correctly. Detailed guides are available.
You may use opsi for client management, but you need to design packages.
Consider pairing Windows Auto-Pilot with Intune and PowerShell scripts. Your confidence is low on performing the Steam or original install since it needs a logged-in user first.
