I purchased a Windows copy via post, which contained only the disk version. Since I don’t have an optical drive on my new PC, I need a way to download Windows onto a flash drive without any accompanying code. Because I have a laptop with an optical drive, I can burn the disk onto it. I also found a code that matches my Windows version but I’m unsure how to transfer it onto the flash drive and then install it on my PC.

Search for a guide on installing W8.1 using a USB flash drive. You’ll find step-by-step instructions online. Make sure to use a 4GB USB stick and a valid product key for the best results.
