Okay, thanks for the help. If I was able to get it installed, and it stopped working down the road, would I lose any files, would it affect my hardware? Or could I just buy another key? (hopefully from a more trustworthy place)

It seems you're suggesting a specific interpretation. G2A isn't an official Windows license reseller, and Microsoft can change that at any time.

Sure, using the key promptly should prevent any attempts to cheat you. It seems they’re unlikely to cancel it either.

they likely won’t, they’re unlikely to pursue legal steps (though it’s possible). What you’re really doing is buying a pirated key, which could have just as much risk. Is it affordable? Yes. Is it legal? No. That’s all I can say—this also breaks the community guidelines here.
