Hello everyone, A laptop was recently offered to me for sale—it's a Dell Inspiron running Windows 7 Home Premium. The previous owner didn’t include an installation disc, likely because it wasn’t provided by the retailer. However, the laptop has the product key printed on the bottom sticker. My concern is whether I can easily reinstall Windows. Since the owner didn’t set up a restore point initially and Dell doesn’t offer a system restore option for reinstalling without an installation disc, I’m seeking guidance. Thank you in advance for your assistance.

Create a bootable USB drive by preparing the necessary files and using a suitable tool to format it.

This method is specifically designed for "shrink wrapped" retail editions of Windows, so it wouldn’t apply to your version. I don’t have a download link for a boot DVD for Windows 7.

Yes, I found the link. It leads to Microsoft's software recovery page.

Rufus allows you to create a bootable USB stick, and transfer Windows files from an ISO image onto it. You can obtain the ISO from a source and use it with your license. (Other users? Probably right!)

There seems to be a issue with that site with some keys. It decides that English keys are not really English keys but some other language which makes it impossible to get the ISO legally. Microsoft seems very uninterested in fixing it.
