Setting up Windows 7 on a Z370 Gaming K6 computer
Hey. So as you can see from the title I have a question about how to install Windows 7 on this motherboard. When I built my new PC about 6 or 7 months ago I couldn't install it and when I asked a friend why he told me that it's because the motherboard doesn't support it so I had to install Windows 10 instead. Over this time I've been using it but I really don't like it. I heard there is a way to install Windows 7 but I can't seem to find how anywhere. Can anyone light me up on that one? Thanks.
You should be able to set up Windows 7 just like usual and likely work with Windows 10 drivers since the driver versions haven't changed much. However, this isn't a certainty. If a company claims they won't support a certain hardware with a specific OS, it usually means you're on your own with that pairing.
I’m having trouble setting it up. If I could, I wouldn’t need help here. The issue is that when I power on the USB and try to install it, it just freezes. I think there’s a specific step or file required for Windows 7, but I can’t locate it.
Using a USB 3.0 port seems to be the issue. Windows 7 lacks built-in USB 3.0 functionality. This could improve, so consider updating your hardware or drivers to match your system: https://www.overclock.net/forum/6-intel-...-hero.html
You're questioning my point. Can you clarify what you're referring to?
It looks like you're facing an issue with just three 3.0 ports available. I'll take a look, thank you.
