I already have a 500gb storage device on my system and was thinking about switching to an SSD. I’m unsure how to transfer the same Windows installation onto the new drive while completely erasing the old one, or if there’s a method to duplicate everything exactly and move it over for a much quicker performance.

You can always duplicate the drive's data to create a perfect copy. When switching from an HDD to an SSD, it’s best to reinstall everything and then transfer only the files you need. This ensures you take advantage of the SSD’s speed while keeping the old setup for the HDD configuration.
