I'm using Windows 10 home, but it boots into Windows 7 too. Getting it to Windows XP is on my to-do list as well. My system specs are: CPU AMD FX-9590 Black Edition, cooler H150i, 16 GB RAM. I’m aware the CPU isn’t listed for official use and TPM 1.2 won’t suffice, but I’ve seen others upgrade older setups. I tried using Rufus, but it can’t find the Windows 11 ISO. I have an optical drive available. Any advice would be appreciated.
I understand the discussion around the FX series and its compatibility with Windows 11, especially concerning SSE 4.2 and popcnt. It seems you're checking whether your setup uses a USB drive or a CD/DVD installation.
Can you test Rufus with an official Windows 10 ISO? If it doesn’t recognize it, that points to another problem. Which USB drive are you connecting? I’ve noticed these older FX boards often struggle with drives over 32GB. Running 11 works fine, but you might run into driver issues—especially with LAN ports, since many boards have chips that don’t function properly in 11. Hope your crosshair stays stable, though!
