No one has tested this before. I want to know how smoothly Ubuntu performs compared to Raspberry Pi OS.

I've tested it on the Pi 4 with 8GB RAM. It works fine, though many Raspberry Pi apps remain 32-bit and haven't been upgraded for 64-bit support yet.

The Ras Pi foundation has issued an update for Ras Pi OS today, featuring a refreshed Chromium version that enables hardware-accelerated video playback. This improvement ensures smoother video performance across all Ras Pi 4 devices, including platforms like Twitch, YouTube, and video conferencing tools such as Zoom and Teams.

That's great news! I've just received a Pi 400 and I'm excited to begin exploring it. I was thinking it would be perfect for hobby projects and some light software work. Ras Pi OS seems like a solid choice for my needs.
