Hey! It sounds like the built-in screen isn't displaying properly in Game Mode after installing SteamOS. Try checking the display settings in Developer Options or Game Mode settings, and see if there are any restrictions or conflicts. Also, ensure your graphics drivers are up to date. Let me know what you find!

I don't have a specific laptop model or specs. Could you provide more details about what you're asking?

We need additional details about your laptop’s specifications. Keep in mind, SteamOS isn’t fully prepared for widespread use on desktops yet. They’ve made adjustments so it can run on portable devices other than the Steam Deck, but their goal seems to be different—likely not full desktop support at this stage. The main concern is missing drivers and configurations that come with traditional distros. You might succeed if your machine uses only AMD hardware (like most handhelds), though results could differ otherwise. If you’re after a SteamOS-like experience for laptops or desktops, Bazzite is worth exploring—it offers similar features with improved support for those platforms.

yeah probably should have put the specs in my post, my bad. the laptop is a HP - Victus 15.6" Full HD Gaming Laptop https://www.bestbuy.com/site/hp-victus-1...Id=6578933 CPU: AMD 7535HS RAM: 32gb DDR5 GPU: 6550M SSD 4tb NVME I have tried Bazzite, Nobara, etc. I just want to try to get proper SteamOS working. I once installed it on my desktop and it worked really well, its just when ever I try on this laptop GameMode/GameScope wont work on the Built-in display. If its still just a Driver issue that Valve has to solve so be it, but so far this is the best install yet. In the past WiFi drivers didnt work and I to use a Type-C dongle for everything. Mouse, Keyboard, Display-out and Ethernet. But yeah, if anyone could point me in the right direction so i can install some kind of work around I would much appreciate it!
