You can add programs straight to the second SSD without much preparation, but you’ll need to ensure it has enough free space and that the drive is properly formatted.

If the alternative drive appears as D:/, E:/, etc., you can direct the installer to that location and it will handle the rest. Organizing folders might be helpful, but it’s usually not necessary beyond that. This approach is quite typical.

Remember the programs require data and settings files that remain on the computer's storage. Installing them on another drive like D or E might work, but it’s best to free up space on the original drive first.

Moved to Windows *** Created folders for applications on both storage devices. During installation, I could only change the drive letter to identify which software would be installed. This happened before the larger SSD was added.
