I just bought GTA 5 but it didn’t install on my main account since Rockstar warned against using unusual characters. I created another user, gave it admin rights, and now I’m wondering if I can delete that second account without affecting the game files. The files are supposed to be shared between both accounts. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

The game runs independently from your personal files. It’s placed in the program folder along with other software and media. Saves are stored elsewhere in your user documents. If you remove the second account, the game remains, but your saves disappear. Make sure to back up the relevant files first.

Your separate HDD location doesn’t affect where saved game files are stored. You can keep them in the documents folder on your main SSD without any changes.

The saved file stays in your documents. You can place the game wherever you like. The save should be copied no matter where the game is located.

The file is saved at this path: C:\Users\username\Documents\Rockstar Games\GTA V Username. This is the username you selected. If your system isn't set to English, it will display the equivalent in your language.
