On a 7800x3d board, the Asus x670-a with g.skill 64gb Intel Xmp 6000/32 was running at 4800, but the GPU wasn’t ready yet. The build was almost complete when I installed Windows 11, updated the BIOS to the latest version, and had to reinstall all network drivers. Booting was slow—started with a 5-10 second orange MOBIUS light, then red, white, and green. Initially, there were 10-20 minute intervals between reboots, which reminded me of RAM issues. After checking temperatures and ensuring everything worked, I reset the CMOS, tried different RAM setups, and power cycling helped stabilize things. The system connected perfectly with the RM1000x. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Are there four DIMMs combined? It needs to operate at 4800MHz according to the AMD guidelines.

It’s a 2x32GB system with two other configurations available, but it won’t boot sometimes. No changes have been made, so it’s using the standard 4800 speed.

They suggested checking the BIOS for updates, as it can assist with EXPO/DOCP/XMP profiles. However, you’ve already done that. Since these are two RAM kits, there might be minor differences, so manually adjusting memory frequency and timings in BIOS could be necessary. Make sure the two DIMMs you’re using were identical retail units, as mismatches might cause problems. Also, confirm there were no stability issues before updating the BIOS—this applies to the ROG STRIX X670E-A motherboard.

The black and white Asus ROG STRIX x670E-A came with a single package, even though the packaging noted Intel Xmp compatibility. The sales team assured it would work on AM5, but I updated the BIOS before testing and it booted correctly the first time.

The situation is clear enough for the packaging to include the logo as part of marketing. It might be a software-related problem, so consider reinstalling Windows and then using memtest86 to check for errors.

You're referring to the Asus RAM issues. I attempted to run memtest86, but it stopped after the first half of the test before rebooting.

It seems there’s a clear issue here. You think you’ve tried the alternative RAM kit but problems persist. Check if the specific RAM model is listed for your motherboard. If you can’t boot without it, it might point to a motherboard fault.
