Hi everyone, I’m facing a bit of an unusual situation: I’m staying at university, but my server is actually on my parents’ house. I can easily connect via SSH or remote desktop, which has been really useful. The main issue so far is that I can’t remotely forward ports to the server. The router I’m using is the standard BT model they provided, and I haven’t managed to get better performance from the parents. Looking online for “Portforward bt homepage” only brings up guides on port forwarding BT, not the solution I need. Thanks, Jihakuz.

You're looking to reach the router's configuration interface to adjust port forwarding rules.

Often the simplest answers are right before our eyes. I haven't always had to search for them...

You can also employ an SSH tunnel and utilize a browser (Firefox supports this) to connect to the router as though your browser was on the local network.
