Setting up a remote connection for GoPro cameras online. Assistance required!
Hey there, I know this might not be the right place, but I’ve come across a few similar discussions and none offered a clear solution. That’s why I’m hoping to share my approach. I’m working on a remote USB configuration for a film set, needing to power and stream four GoPro cameras from roughly 250 meters away. The challenge is mobility—setup must adapt after each shoot. Each camera requires stable power and video transmission. My plan involves a USB over fiber hub (like the one described) with four active cables, each about nine meters long. I’d place a compact USB power bank at the hub to supply all devices, including the cameras, cables, and transmitter. The transmitter would use a USB decoy for safety. However, I’ve noticed many active cables have power connectors on the wrong side, which could cause issues. My goal is to source everything from the host side via the power bank, ensuring each GoPro gets 5V at 2A without needing batteries. Have you tried similar configurations? Are there better cables or hardware options that allow powering from the host and transmitting over such distances? Any tips would be invaluable. Thanks in advance! And a big thank you to GPT for helping with my grammar.
