Hello everyone, I have a friend who wants to reset her PC but she lost the password. I checked online, but it wasn’t clear if restarting while holding Shift and clicking reset would work, or if Windows would be wiped. I came across a site that seemed confusing: https://www.lostwindowspassword.com/wind...sword.html. Thanks for your assistance!

If you're not interested in the computer's data, get a Windows 10 ISO file, create a bootable USB drive, start from the USB and install Windows 10.

Windows should turn on automatically once you install the right version.

Due to Windows security settings, accessing the Advanced Startup option (press Shift to restart) won't refresh the system. However, you can save your progress and then restart without a password—just be aware of the security restrictions. If it's linked to a Microsoft account, resetting that account will restore access.

Identify the required DART release and apply it to update the admin credentials. No additional steps needed.

I suggest starting from Hiren's USB drive (http://www.hirensbootcd.org/) and installing Ophcrack. Clear the password from your account. That should be a simpler way to reset the PC.
