I shared a similar query yesterday about installing Windows 10 on a fresh hard drive with a Windows 7 retail disk. It looks like it might work by using a USB stick or similar setup. If you plan a full rebuild with a new motherboard, hard drive, and disc, can you still run Windows 7 on the new system and keep Windows 10 free? After the free upgrade expires, would you need a new retail version of Windows 10? My understanding is that retail licenses are tied to one PC at a time, so using the old license should be fine if you replace it. I’m still unsure about upgrading Windows 7 directly to Windows 10 for free on a new build after the free update ends.

You can set up your Windows 7 on the new system and then apply all updates before transitioning to Windows 10 at no cost. Another point: Simular is similar to Similar.

When you turn on one PC using a single key, it's probably not compatible with other systems. However, occasionally certain keys might trigger multiple activations.

The free Windows 10 update is no longer valid. If it expired, you’ll need to reinstall the update or check for newer versions.

I believed retail options performed well on new builds, while OEM models seem linked to a single motherboard. Retail units can be reused multiple times as long as activation is managed per board.

The Windows 10 upgrade is available at no cost for a year, but once it expires, it will become expensive.

You're asking if, after upgrading Windows 10 for free, you'd be limited to using Windows 7 with your existing Windows 7 retail license. Would buying a newer retail version of Windows 10 change that?

It relies on the number of times the license key is utilized. I possess Windows keys that allow repeated use.

If you aimed for Windows 10 after the free upgrade on a fresh installation, you'd likely have to purchase it.

Yes, or you might request someone to provide it (and there are also some unlawful methods).
