Hello, your recent move into a new apartment has brought up some interesting setup questions. You mentioned having an Ethernet port in the living room and another in the bedroom, but during installation, the bedroom port wasn’t connected to the wall. To connect it, you’ll likely need to remove part of the walls in that area—especially since brick construction is common here. Whether you should call your ISP or tackle it yourself depends on your comfort level and the scope of work. It’s best to consult a professional to avoid damage and ensure proper installation.

When you connect an item, does it function? If not, remove the cover plate and check for a cable attached to the jack. If found, locate the other end.

Remove the wall plate and inspect the interior. If it's not connected, it means either the cable is in the wall but not attached to the plate (simple with a guide) or it wasn't run through the wall at all.

Do it yourself, and you have two choices: 1. Place the system inside the wall by breaking the brick walls, insert the cable first, then repair the damage. 2. Purchase an outbow plate, run the cable outside the wall to the plate, using a cable duct with adhesive backing if you prefer a cleaner look. I chose the outdoor option.

I just took it off the wall—it's an empty box with no cables. I’m confused about why someone would put it there if it won’t be wired. I’ll check the channels to hide it and run it from the active one in the other room. Thanks for the support everyone!
