He gave me his PC to repair. He mentioned the motherboard was dead and that several others had shared the same experience. I planned to install it, then reinstall Windows and continue with the setup. Now I'm facing serious issues during the installation. First, the computer wouldn't install Windows at all—it refused to accept it. I tried three times. Then I changed the Windows disk, and this time it worked. However, I ended up booting into Windows and saw a black screen with a blinking cursor. I used another disk (different downloads) this time, but it still boots into Windows, showing the home screen before going black. It functions perfectly in safe mode. A diagnostic test revealed Windows started successfully. I'm really confused and don't know what to do next.

Have you verified every driver? Perhaps try installing them in safe mode and observe the outcome?

Could the computer fail to work with the specific Windows version or the required drivers?

It supports an onboard video adapter. Microsoft states you need 128MB of VRAM for Windows 7, though this seems exaggerated. Your motherboard’s adapter might not meet these requirements or could be faulty, as some users have reported issues. Consider using an older GPU; basic drivers for most AMD/NVidia cards are available on standard installation media. For a more advanced setup, you could compile a custom Windows installation ISO with the necessary drivers. This approach isn’t straightforward and might not resolve the problem.
