Hey, you're looking to get Windows 2008 on your HP DL380 Gen 9 server. Since it's an EOL and newer versions are better, you'll need to set up an x32 version of the OS. You can follow official Windows installation guides for x32, or use tools like Microsoft's download page and select the appropriate architecture. Just make sure your hardware supports it. No VMware required.

Consider using a hypervisor and setting up a 32-bit 2008 version in a virtual machine.

Can't rely on VM because several users will access this temporary server for our software

Using virtualbox or similar environments works well. RAID drivers should be interesting. From what I've seen, most vendors claim their programs need a 32-bit OS, but in reality it's often not necessary. A few old Java versions and Windows handles can run 32-bit applications smoothly.

What's the issue with several users accessing a virtual machine? Remote desktop works just fine, it's not about the VM itself.
