I thought you wouldn’t be able to achieve this since Windows 8 relies on MBR while Windows 10 only supports GPT.

Windows 7 and 8 support both MBR and GPT during boot, a decision set at installation—either via the boot disc in legacy or UEFI mode, available through the motherboard menu if UEFI is supported, otherwise unavailable. Most modern Windows 8 machines tend to use GPT, though the MBR option remains available for certain needs.
