Hello everyone, I'm setting up a PC and encountering problems installing Windows 10 on a Samsung 970 EVO M.2 card. The issue is that the installation can't locate the SSD. I'm using an ASRock Z390 Taichi (not Ultimate) motherboard. It seems the BIOS displays the drive size but doesn't update it, and I don't have a computer to run updates on. If you have any more details, feel free to share.

No, there are other drives available on the PC.

The motherboard probably came with a driver CD, insert it into your PC and start the W10 setup. It seems Windows 10 isn’t recognizing a driver for your M.2 slots on the board. If you don’t have a CD/DVD drive, purchase a USB 3.0 one from Amazon.

Yes, please confirm you want the bios updated. Or let me know if you need help verifying compatibility with other drivers.

I'm facing the same problem with a Gigabyte AB350 Gaming ver 1.0 MOBO and a Ryzen 2200G CPU. The Windows installer can't recognize the 970 EVO SSD in the m.2, whereas Linux installed it quickly and performed well. When I enabled AMD RAID in the BIOS, the SSD appeared and Windows installed successfully. In the Device List it shows up, but as part of an AMD RAID setup, the Samsung Magician can't detect it. I'm unsure if this is directly related, but Windows feels much slower than Linux. It's comparable to my regular SATA SSD in a notebook, even though benchmarks showed 1300 write and 1800 read speeds. But on 4K it was extremely slow. My concern is that the RAID controller might be the issue. I tried installing drivers in non-RAID mode from the MOBO CD, but Windows didn't accept them. They appeared, including the RAID driver, but none made the SSD accessible for installation. Anyone has any updates on this problem? The MOBO BIOS seems quite confusing too. I prefer simpler systems like ASUS.

After a week of troubleshooting, I finally resolved the problem. The issue stemmed from using the installation version on Microsoft’s site, which didn’t function properly. I had to rely on a significantly older Windows 10 installer that worked smoothly. This should assist anyone facing similar challenges.
