I recently assembled a fresh PC, but it doesn’t have an OS installed. Can I put Windows 10 on a brand-new machine and wipe the hard drive clean? I’m familiar with everything involved, and this won’t be my main system.

It's feasible, but I might wait until Windows 8.1 is available for an upgrade.

I'm aiming for the optimal price possible, haha.

You're asking about the durability of something, implying it may not hold up well over time.

Windows 10 is presently in a technical preview stage, filled with numerous issues. I wouldn’t suggest using it. I recall a problem where pressing Alt + F10 during ShadowPlay caused the game to freeze. Cortana didn’t function properly half the time, and the Start menu appeared intermittently and sometimes failed entirely.

Honestly, I’d never receive a technical preview on a PC since it’s prone to instability and might crash unexpectedly.

Windows 10 is still in development. It’s expected to become available to users soon, likely at the close of July, with a free upgrade option for those who have the operating system installed. The release window is set for within one year from the OS's launch.
