I need to set up Ubuntu Server on your laptop without a display or BIOS access, but the Grub installation keeps failing. How can I proceed without using Grub?

The setup is finished already. GRUB remains the final component to install; having it ensures you can boot into your operating system. It’s recommended to connect your laptop to a separate monitor—this should support both your Ubuntu version and possibly your BIOS.

You're asking about the specific error message you're encountering. Could you provide more details or the exact error code?

Grub is necessary only for booting several operating systems. For a single OS, it's not required. You can find more details on the Wikipedia page about GNU GRUB.

Grub serves as a bootloader; you need it to start a computer. Without it, you can't boot. If you prefer alternatives, systemd is a popular option.

I made a mistake with this post—actually it's an issue with the Ubuntu server.

Check if the image supports UEFI and your laptop does. Ensure secure boot is active. Load the system into a live setup and list the disk partitions. The boot partition should be GPT. You should also be able to install GRUB manually in the live environment. Note that some entries in the bootloader configuration might need correction; consider a fresh GRUB installation if needed.
