On Windows 8.1 with a single monitor, you can split your window into two equal halves for multitasking. However, achieving four visible windows at once isn't possible with just one window per display. You should be able to continue, just adjust the window speed a bit. Working across multiple monitors helps too. Using the shortcut keys works well. Alternatively, pressing win + arrows is an option.
