Hi Stentorian,
I see you're looking to turn your old Elitebook into a coding host on Linux. Since the BIOS is basic and USB booting didn’t work, you might want to try installing a Linux distribution like Ubuntu. Check if your laptop supports UEFI and ensure you have the right drivers or a compatible BIOS update. You could also explore booting from a USB with a live Linux environment to test the setup before committing. Let me know if you need help finding the right steps!

Consider Windows 10 or remove it entirely. USB issues typically stem from connectivity problems or driver conflicts.

No, you haven't run the bootinstaller software yet.

Remove it entirely, Linux is a much lighter option for the specifications I have. And when the USB fails, it means each time I select it in the boot menu, it immediately jumps to Windows and doesn’t load the Ubuntu installer on the USB.

I misunderstood. I opted for ISOtoUSB instead. It was suggested on a different forum. I'll test it now and check if it functions!
