You can try installing GTA 5 onto your external USB drive. First, remove the game from your PC’s disk, then insert the USB and follow the installation prompts. If you encounter issues, consider uninstalling the game on your PC and reinstalling it directly from the USB. This should allow it to run properly on the external drive.

I'm transferring my installation from my PC to the USB drive just to test it. If it fails, I'll proceed with uninstalling it.

It could help, you should likely refresh your keyboard shortcuts.

I’m placing it on the USB drive for easy transfer to my laptop. After reinstalling it on my PC, it should stay in the same location so I won’t have to recreate the shortcuts.

Take the GTA V directory to your USB storage (move it if needed).
Remove GTA V from your C drive, then reinstall it but place it on the USB.
RGSC will always install on your C drive—adjusting the path is not possible.
Open GTA V, sign in to RGSC, and let it begin downloading the game (note it will update RGSC first).
Halt the download by closing the launcher.
Transfer your current GTA V folder onto the newly created USB copy.
Launch the launcher; it will check for existing files and start the launch.

You've noticed the game won't launch because the system is limited to 32-bit Windows, while GTA V requires 64-bit support.
