You can still use your Apple Magic Mouse with Windows, but you may need a wireless adapter if you're using a wired mouse.

Pretty sure Apple magic mice use Bluetooth, which means you could potentially connect them wirelessly.

During the setup, the mouse should function properly.

Likely. It seems like what I was saying matches the approach, given the Bluetooth connection should function

I wasn't sure if Bluetooth was on at that time.

It seems uncertain about the situation, but it might be useful to explore further. You could buy a wired USB mouse for around $7 if needed.

I don't recall Bluetooth being enabled during Windows installs on any machine. In my opinion, using another mouse would be a better idea—especially since the Magic Mouse is likely very uncomfortable and not ergonomic. If it fits your needs, you might just require a USB mouse for setup.
