Hey there, I just changed the BIOS on my MSI B350m Pro VDH from 1600 to 3600x. At first, I only found the latest versions on MSI’s site (the beta ones) or one that was a few months old before Zen 2 was released. After downloading the beta files, everything works fine—except for the loud fan noise at startup that lasts a couple of seconds. I also discovered a BIOS tailored for Zen 2 itself, which sits between those two versions. I’m wondering whether it’s better to go back to the current version or stick with this one.
I'm also using the beta BIOS files. (MSI B350m Bazooka doesn't have the exact BIOS for it) but if it functions well, go with it. Unless you intend to overclock, as the beta BIOS can be tricky to adjust.
Lmao, I saw the mouse has just 0.1% of its usual sensitivity. Sounds fine then. I've just heard a lot of nonsense about people damaging PCs with bad BIOSes. But if it's running okay for you, I'll give it a try now.
I've been using this BIOS since early January, which makes it about five months now. I even pushed it to CCX1 4.2 and CCX2 4.15 at 1.325, but it's been unstable across all cores in 4.2. I used the XMP profiles but boosted the speed to 3200—does that count as overclocking if it's within the boost range? So far, all tests (Intel burn-in, AIDA64, memory checks, etc.) have passed without any blue screens or crashes.
Sure, I understand. It seems like you're considering its stability, but there might be some limitations since it hasn't been thoroughly tested on less common CPUs/APUs. It's also a first-generation motherboard, so testing isn't as extensive yet.
Apologies for the delayed response, but yes—this is usually the situation. I’ve already cleared the CMOS because of the RAM overclocking, so I’ll likely need to tweak the BIOS in some way.
