Looking for simple methods to connect your home network via VPN. Your Tenda AC15 AC1900 supports VPNs, but it's unclear if it only works with specific providers or allows external access. You're considering using a Raspberry Pi as an alternative. Using the router alone could simplify management, while the Pi offers more flexibility.

Log into your router, navigate to the VPN section, and check for available VPN server options.

I followed the setup guide at the provided link. The connection issue you're facing might be due to compatibility concerns. The OpenVPN app appears to support only certain VPN servers, so ensure your server matches the requirements.

OpenVPN is completely distinct from PPTP. On an Android device you can usually configure it through the phone's settings. The process should be comparable, though you might need to enable certain ports. Once enabled, the router should handle that automatically.
