Hello, I’m not sure about that. Creating your own router isn’t something most people do unless they’re experienced. Using a SPF card on a PC won’t fix internet issues caused by fiber modem problems. It’s best to contact your Internet provider for proper setup.

It seems the reasoning isn't clear. A fiber network card remains a networking device. You might consider a media converter, as these are often more affordable secondhand. The price of a fiber kit usually depends on the link speed. Do you know the current speed of your fiber connection? Unlike copper, fiber doesn’t automatically negotiate speeds.

It relies entirely on your ISP and whether they deliver fiber or copper directly or if additional steps like 802.1x authentication are needed. If they allow ONT replacement, it’s possible; otherwise, it’s unlikely. You must also use a compatible GPON or SFP/SFP+ module, as random ones won’t work unless approved for your network.
