I’m considering reinstalling Windows on my laptop after getting an M2 chip. Most YouTube tutorials suggest letting Windows handle updates automatically, avoiding the need to download BIOS, chipset, or drivers—just the GPU. Since Lenovo provides drivers on their site, I’m unsure whether it’s best to follow their guidance or let Windows manage everything.

I suspect Lenovo offers driver files for their devices, locate them and they’ll handle the updates. Windows 10 includes some basic drivers by default, but those aren’t the newest or most effective versions.

You might try Lenovo's restore disc/iso, which sets up all their drivers and utilities. Alternatively, use a fresh Windows ISO and let Windows handle driver installation. If issues arise, you can later download and install the necessary drivers from Lenovo's support page. I've used a clean install with Fujitsu-clone and didn't need to add drivers manually.
